How?
The headgasket will hang into the combustion chamber, possible hitting the piston, and causing hot spots for pre ignition.

you should have asked that in the first place! your trying to compare apples to oranges...
depending on how golden eagle made the gasket you will probably not be able to use it...you need to check with them for sure....or measure it with a vernier caliper..

Hey...go easy and take your medication. I was stating how far an oem gasket would go in terms of bore size (assuming its a b16 / b18).

Do you have proof that the gasket does not have any overhang at all in an 82mm bore? Just to prove me and civicross wrong.
Civicross pretty much has access to almost any size headgasket and their range of applications. In my experience the gasket was pretty much maxed out in an 81.5mm build, and if ever I did an 82mm bore, there was no way the gasket would have no overhanging material.
Remember there are 81.5 OEM pistons, but there are no specific 81.5 OEM gaskets, stock and OEM OS bore shares the same gasket, no more no less.
Are you sure you're talking about an OEM headgasket and a true 82mm bore?
I am hoping someone else could chime in and clarify this.

Dude, read above...I HAVE USED SEVERAL STOCK OEM HONDA HEAD GASKETS ON "TRUE" 82MM BORE'S...why is that so hard to understand?
If your so undecisive, why dont you grab yourself a vernier caliper and measure for yourself.
you do realize how much 1mm is right?

Im 100% sure that Honda doesn't offer 81.5 oversized pistons for B-series, only 81.25. If you dont believe me call your local honda dealership and talk to a knowledgable parts guy. If you need to go .5 over you need to buy aftermarket "oem" style Pistons from manufacters like Top flight or Rock etc.
