Default Spraying on Toda B's.....

Im rebuilding my ITR block and i've got 2 choices for the pistons. I'm either getting Highcompression pistons and go all-motor, or i've had several people tell me to get flat-tops and spray it. Is spraying an ITR w/ toda B's good? I mean, it makes sense, i can either be stuck at around 200whp, or spray and be at 300-350whp. That would haul major ***.

i was always told that high compression and nitrous was pretty risky

so bottomline, it is risky then right (high come + NOS) ?

If its tuned properly for it, i dont see how itd be really risky b/c itd be tuned for it.

I did this for a customer once, some guidance :
- tune motor on dyno w/o NOS and move cam adj to best HP then mark those settings
- tune motor with NOS and move cams now agian but take out overlap then mark those settings.

so when you ready to run now use the settings for NOS when running all motor use those settings ... if you leave same overlap settings used for all motor you'll see about a 20% less power depending on shot amount. nos just burns to fast and changes VE exponentially

I was always told nitrous loves high compression as well.... cause of it being so cold when injected. As for running it with cams, I'm not sure. I've read somewhere it wasn't such a good idea. Cause with Aggressive cams they tend to have more advanced timing, which is what you don't want due to more chance's detonation when running nitrous. That's from my understanding anyway. Somebody feel free and correct me if I'm wrong.

Well the cams themselves won't have advance, and with adj. cam gears you can advance or retard either way... But the overlap can cause probs just like Turbo guys run cams with the least overlap as possible so they don't lose boost pressures through the exhaust side during the "SUCK" stroke. ;-)

some cams already have timming ground into them. just make sure what you are buying is for your setup but definatly get a higher lsa of like 112 or 114 and a lot of duriation with the high compression and that makes for some real power espically mid to high range. but like everyone says you make all your power with the tunning in the end.

A friend of mine runs a 90 shot and he took his ecu and got it reprogrammed to have 2 settings, changed by flipping a switch. 1 ran normal settings then the "nitrous" prog retarded his timing I believe. Honestly I dont know much this is just from the top of my head , I can ask him more about it if need be.

you wont get any power out of your toda b's for daily driving if you run low compression (sub 10.6-11)
if you are going lower than 11 cr, then just get some mild cams, like ctr.

toda b's need high cr to make power, ask cheetah, he is familar with these cams

you just need to spend a good 2-3 hours onthe dyno getting it tuned for the most hp
