spark plug wires
sometimes when i drive my car hard it was start to idle real jumpy and then if i lift the hood the spark plug wires will be up a little like not completley in and if i push them down it goes back to normal does anyone know why they jump like that?
Either you're not getting the boots all the way down on the top of the plug, or the metal piece inside the boot is too loose & not holding a good connection to the top of the plug... or technically, it's also possible that there's a good connection, but the wire has been pushed too far through the boot. All you would have to do for this is push the boot all the way down on the plug & at the same time, pull the wire away from the boot to pull out any slack. Although, out of the three, my guess would be probably the first one. Make sure you're pushing down on them until you hear a little pop from the plug top settling into the connection.
thanks for the replys i guess i will try what teken said because i am sure that i put it all the way down......its not a big problem just gets to be annoying when you have to stop and put them in
