is this sound from my car normal....
My car makes a wierd sound when it idles, or at least I think it sounds wierd. It just sounds really tinny I really dont know how to describe it other than that. Its not a knocking sound(valves or aything) or anything. Is this normal for my car or cars like it??? Also when the car just sits and idles the air conditioning keeps turning on and off. I have underdrive pulles would that be causin the problem?? Thanks for the advise.

The a/c compressor clutch is suppose to cycle on and off. Thats how the system works. Rule of thumb: maybe 3-5 times a min. Fast cycling could also mean that you are low on freon. L8S
not sure about the sound cuz u really don't give any description of it. but at idle u can some times hear a funky resonation through your cold air intake. its not a knocking noise and it isn't a sucking noise its a kinda wierd sound.
If you only hear this noise after a cold-start, it is probably just piston slap. It's normal on Civic's...Honda even issued a bulletin saying that it's normal. I hope this helps. Later!
