Default Someone pls answer this

Ive had this question in my mind for several hours.....

why do I see 'i think my vtec is not working' or 'vtec is not coming on' on alot of posts? I think I see this post every day in the tech forum but Ive never clicked on it.

wtf happens to your car when it doesnt go into vtec? does it stop rpm at 6000 or something like that? what the hell happens....just curious cause its never happend to me.

It doesnt just stop, there just is no switchover to vtec. Happened to my friends 93 vtec when he put an ignition amp on.

You would just stay on the mild cam profile and would basically be driving a non-vtec engine with a higher reline. If you've ever seen an LS dyno chart you know that it won't make any power past ~6000 so revving to 8000+ would be a waste.
