Somebody help. (starting problem)
I got in my 97 civic 4dr yesterday, and it just clicked. The battery was filthy, so I got a new clamp and cleaned the other one. I got the battery checked and it tested good. A friend and I pop-started it and it ran. I shut it off to see if ot would start back up, and it wouldn't. We pop-started it again and I thought it would be fine, but on the way home, it died 5 or 6 times. It seemed to only die when I pushed the clutch all the way down, but not every time. Pop-starting the car made me think that it was my starter, but I don't think a bad starter would cut the power out when it is running. I really need help, this is my daily driver and I have a 60 mile trip every day for work.
Sounds like you have some sort of short somewhere. So the car dies while driving? Check your harness. Once you get the car started, grab the harness and shake it around to see if it will cause the car to shut off. Sounds like a lose wire somewhere. Good luck.
