Default Starter or battery problem? Need some help

My car was driving fine today. I parked it, went into the restaurant to have some lunch. After lunch, I got into the car, stuck in the key, pushed on the clutch pedal, and the car justed clicked one and didn't start. The radio was working fine as i kept repeating this process. It sounded like the starter didnt crank, all i heard was a click and no more. I was able to get a little running start so i popped the clutch and it started. When I got home, I turned off the car, and immedietly tried starting it again, but the same thing happened as above. What the heck is goign on with the car?

Sounds like the starter motor froze up on you to me. The car SHOULD have charged back up enough to start on the way home, Also it would have died on the way back if the alternator was messed up and your battery was shot. You can try jumping it once to see if its the battery but I doubt it. Sounds very much like a bad starter.

Yea I forgot to mention that. Good looking out The battery cable way will eliminate the battery tho leaving the same conclusion. BTW they SHOULD test the starter for free.

I'll have to try jumping it before i conclude its the starter i guess, thanks guys.

I always thought that starters gave symtoms that they were going bad, but mine just did it all of a sudden

Sounds like the starter contacts are worn out.
