A solution to the 22 mm crank snout problem
I recently bought a factory "new old stock" D16A6 short block to use in building a new engine for my 88 CRX. Everything was going great until I realized that this was an early 88 block that had the 22 mm crank snout.
Almost all D16 engines have 24 mm snouts. You can still get the bolt for this crank, but not the timing belt pulley or the harmonic balancer pulley.
My solution was to make a 22 to 24 mm adapter. I found some steel tubing of the correct dimensions on ebay:

I ordered one foot of tubing and two weeks later it arrived via royal mail (the seller is in England). The outside of the tubing was a perfect fit, the inside was a bit too small (way better than too big). I took it to a machinist friend of mine. He cut a piece to the right length, bored the inside to the proper diameter, and cut a keyway slot in on end of the adapter. He also made me two optional pieces, a larger crank pulley key and a larger washer for the crankshaft bolt. Everything bolted together fine, and I expect it to work perfectly when the project is finished. Here is an attempt at photo links:
