That is the best pic I can get(camera sucks). Do either of you have any idea of what it could be? I left the ECU at a buddies house so I will try to look at what it is connected to tomorrow. Please take another look and let me know. Those wires are right next to the 28 pin socket

cause they arent necessary when chipping an ecu.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Good guess.

Ya someone probably screwed some of the traces on the board........cant really tell from those pics. If you can get a more detailed pic. it would be more helpful to determine what those wires are for

I will try to get a better pic today.

Does it work? I wouldn't worry about it. I retain my opinion from above. Pictures is still a little blurry. Ask the seller??

Bad tracers. There is no reason other than that. The last time I saw something like that...
Have a look at the back of the board and see if there is any damage.
I bought a PR4. I tried running it and it worked fine, then the car would die and it would pop the CEL that there was a computer problem. Waited a couple of minutes, then it would work fine. so when I got it home pulled the ecu apart...

holy ****!!!!
My ecu is not that bad. My ecu looks fine on the back as well? I wonder if whoever chipped this just broke a couple of the pins and needed to compensate for them by adding the wires? Keep the responses coming! Maybe the guy who chipped this will see this and reply?

cut them, and see what happens
hehe..

sounds reasonable.

I would be pissed off as a **** if I had recieved an ECU in the condition of the PR4 above. That would be a road trip worthy item, and it would definately be grounds for a refund.
Naw I just laughed and used it as a lesson, as well as scrounged the plugs to make an adapter harness for OBD0 tuning. The 50bux I paid was worth the laugh.

I don't have my engine done so I have not tested it yet and my buddies cars are obd0! I paid over $100 for this so it won't be worth a laugh if it does not work

I laugh everytime I see it, cause some poor sucker ( besides me of course ) spent alot of time and effort ( and hot glue ) trying to put that sucker together and actually have it work kinda. I keep the board beside my computer and just laugh. Besides I still made it usefull I built myself a OBD0-OBD0 harness with a sub harness for my wideband.
When socketing any type of printed circuit board like that you HAVE to use a temperature variable soldering gun...if not, broken and burnt up tracers are all you can ask for. Unless you are EXTREMELY careful and good. I agree that probably burnt up those tracers and had to use wires to make the connection..
