Default ECU Q

Hey i have a chipped p28 ecu.I just received a chip with basemaps froma P08 for my JDm D15B but what chip am i suppose to remove? sorry for the noobness but i have no clue A pic would be nice

The one that says SST in the picture. Should be located in the bottom right area when the words are rightside up that is.

Take a flathead screwdriver and VERY CAREFULLY pry it up.

if you have a ZIF socket(blue in the pic).. turn the lever. don't pry.

on a normal socket (the part that holds the chip) you have to gently lift the chip out with a small screw driver or chip removal tool because you are sliding the pins out of the socket that is trying to hold the chip in. (pry = move something with force)


in that pic, the blue piece has the grey arm on the right hand side, the top of it is lifted/rotated to spread the clamping connections apart so the chip slides out with little to zero force. (this type of socket is called a ZIF - zero insertion force)
