So get this ! -
This is in reference to the below linked thread -
I have had "seemed" to have problems with my valves making noise ever since I bought my 01 GSR 2 1/2 months ago. Done 4 different adjustments with proper tools helms in hand. One perfert on spec, one a little loose, one a little tight and then back to spec. Noticeing every time I do so when lining the crank a TDC the cam pulley marks DO NOT match up but maybe seems the timing chain has skipped one tooth.
I give up, told to have a pro adjust them - so yesterday I make an appointment at Acura, call em back today " cars good to go, no charge , lashing are fine, cam timing is fine no unusual noise cold OR warm. "
ummm..WTF!! I mean I'm glad that the people who represent the manufacture of my car say its fine but I know valve noise when I hear it !
They say that they checked the clearence so they must have had to line up the cam/crank marks in order to to do so. I know for a fact that when the white line on the crank pulley is lined up with the plastic edge on the front of the block that the cam pulleys DO NOT line up, but when I line the pulleys up the crank is off by maybe 2-3mm ( about one tooths worth ) . I exsplained this too them before I turned my key in and they stated " if the timing has jumped , even by ONE tooth the car will not run and with have a check engine light " , I even spoke with the head tech , "I've been working on hondas for 30 years and have never seen a 4clyd jump a tooth"
Is this just me ??! am I freaking out over nothing ? are honda motors just naturaly noisy ? I mean I can even hear this noise all the way up to 3k - slightly but its there. At Idle its much more loud, an off tempo ping not consistant. Its not really when I put a load on it ( high gear at low speeds ) but just acelling and idle.
Anyway enough typing - in 2 hours I will have her back with no adjustments. Then I will see , and if it takes recording the damn thing at startup and posting it here I will.
Any suggestions & I MEAN ANY suggestions are welcome

ok, i don't know if this work for you, on the thread below you said it was only during cold, when warm it was just fine?
mitusbishis do this a lot, and is because the oil is cold and the valvetrain doesn't get much, which is pretty normal, after the car warms up they stop making the noise, so what type of oil are you running?

take it back and SHOW HIM its not lined up
then explain to him you have the first 4cyl motor in HISTORY to ever jump a tooth.
then tell his *** to fix it.

I work at a dealership and I will tell you this: there are hacks and there are technicians. Unfortunately I have had to work along side of some real hacks during my career. I have also had the pleasure of working with some of the best technicians in the business. You can not judge all of us based on your experience with one, or even a couple of incompetent *****.
And as to your timing belt being off a tooth, it is possible. If your timing belt is loose, it can jump. If it is loose, your engine will also be noisier. If you are not experienced, you may not be reading the cams correctly. The best place to read them is where they meet in the center. With the engine at TDC (white mark on crank pulley lined up with pointer on timing cover) and the "up" marks on the cam pulleys in the up position (sic.) the notches on the cam pulleys should be pointing towards each other. Good luck.

I have a mechanic at my Honda Dealer that I trust. But, he is the only one, and he's the head mechanic.
Here's why I brought my car in to have the 2nd gear syncro replaced and when I got the car back it seemed fine. Until that is, I installed mt ACT, the guy had torqued the bolts down to 3 times reg. spec. and had clamped my clutch line down to where it was barely flowing.
maybe I just caught a shitty mechanic
On a lighter note. My friend and I adjusted my valves today and the car is running great.
