Smoking B16a
Ok for about a year now i've had big problems with my beloved b16a, but i think now i've finally found the problem. i just rebuilt my motor and put .025 overbore ctr pistons in it. but still it smokes. i've had compression checks and leakdown tests done and both come back good.
i've got bluish/white smoke coming out the exhaust pretty much all the time and have noticed that the valve cover is insanely hot but the motor never really overheats. i've got a little bit of oil leaking around the head and block. my conclusion is that the head is warped. i know, i know, i should've had the head milled a little bit when rebuilding the motor but i didn't think of it.
I'd appreciate everyone else's $.02. tell me if i'm crazy thinking it could be that or not.

i've notice the last couple of times i've driven it, that i can't really see any smoke, but then again it is winter so i might be confusing smoke with steam, but i can smell oil burning. i've checked the oil level, but it's not really changed. could a warped head cause oil as well as coolant to leak into a cylinder too?
Possibly. You would have oil coming down, running across the head-gasket and dropping in to the combustion chamber. Then you would have water (well probably steam actually) making its way up past the head-gasket in to the combustion chamber.
Voila! A nice bluish-white smoke plume.

that's pretty much what i've got. i light bluish/white smoke out the exhaust. not really a "heavy" blue smoke, just real light and wispy. i've had an idea that this problem might be caused by a warped head
, but at least now i've got a solid idea to go on.

naw, this mug smokes all the time. i'm planning on taking the head off this week and take it to have the head shaved, if need be. even if this isn't the problem i figure it wouldn't hurt to start narrowing down.
