Default smoke out of intake help!!

My car recently just started taking a cple cranks before it would turn on. Then as I was driving home from school one day the car just shut off and after a while I could turned the car on. Got home and tried to crank again and poof a cloud of smoke came out my intake. I did a compression test and it was around 250 in all 4 cylinders. Also checked my timing today to see if it slipped a teeth but it also looked fine to me. Started to crank it once more and the light on the dash slowly dimms out and then all the power goes out.

any suggestions?

Take off your distributor cap. A dollar says the screw for the rotor fell off.

Just checked it is at 180 but the power is dimming out upon cranking and it shuts off and the main relay starts to click

If Im not mistaken the dizzies on Honda's are made so where you can't put them on 180 degrees off..at least thats what helms says , smoke coming out of the intake def. seems like a timing issue tho.

Sounds like your battery has gotten weak from cranking so much. And, the distributor doenst go out 180 while your driving, or at all because it only fits one way. So I assume you did check the rotor?

When you do It turn the Crank pulley bolt until until u see that the cam gear arrrows are both pointing up and the two notches on the cam gears are facing each other the one on the left should be at 3 o clock and the cam gear on the right should be at 9 o clock indicating your at TDC and your dizzy rotor should be firing on the number one spark plug wire (bottom left), did u check the timing belt thoroughly b/c I have had the same problem with mine before when I had a minor crack in the belt it made smoke come out the intake ..

sounds like you've got combustion gasses reverting back thru the intake manifold and out the intake. if thats the case, it means you might have intake valves that are still open. i have the same problem on mine right now, and i suspect bent valves. if yer timing is correct and didnt slip, theres no reason for piston to valve contact to occurr, but you never know until you test for it. if all else fails, you might wanna run a compression/leakdown test to verify........better safe than sorry.

just curious.....do you notice any erratic misfiring/heavy bogging when you give it gas?

Today I rechecked my timing and it was perfect. So I then found a extra distributor at my uncles house and tried to crank it but nothing happen but this time no smoke came out ... checked that distributor and it was bad. So the smoke was caused because of the distributor. Stuck the old one back in and thanks to JDMlyfestyle for his write up. So I tested coil and it was fine read 16. Checked the ICM on the first step I was suppose to be reading a 12v in which I got 9.7 then second step it read the same thing.
So I now have to ship it out to distributor king to get it replace...damn remanufactured distrbutors
