Default smog question that probably most can answer (but me)

i know this is a really stupid question, but will my friend have to smog my at the time of registration when i sell it to him. it was just smogged last january, so it won't be due til about january of 2005. will that date stay the same if he buys it? or will he have to smog it before registration? any help is appreciated.

it would help if we new what state this is in and if its cali. then yes u would have to smog the car again unless u sold the car w/ in 30 days of the last smog

in calli a smog certificate is only good for 90 days so yes you must smog it again
