Question about SMOG! Help!
Hey, I have a question about SMOG testing. I'm going to buy a 94 Civic with a swap, and it probably wont pass smog says the seller. SOOO my question is how would i go about getting it to pass smog? Also does it effect registering the vehicle under my name? And how illegal is it to drive it without passing smog testing? PLEASE HELP!!!
Thank you in advance for all serious replies.

Haven't taken it to a ref. yet. I havent bought it yet. I guess that'll be the first thing i do. Do you think its worth it to buy a car if it cant pass smog?

What kind of engine is the swap?
if it has LS/Vtec or the CRV's B20, it won't pass. Even though the engine can technically pass smog in your civic, CA's laws say no.

it'll pass, just register it with the ref. first. Do a search in honda-tech, there was a recent FAQ tech thread in how to do it the right way. (I can't seem to find the thread) I'm trying to get mine ref. too, since i'm forced to go see a ref.
