SMOG EXEMPT??????
I came across an ad where a guy was selling a dc2 in cali that was smog exempt..just curious how or why it would be exempt? I wish my jdm b20 was exempt..lol..anybody know why????
when he was asked why he said he bought it like that and doesnt know why either..thats why i posted this for those of u that r going to get mad cause i started this thread
It used to be that a car converted to run on CNG could be smog exempted as an "alternative fuel vehicle". I don't believe that the exemption is still in place, but cars already exempted are exempted for life.
Doing so was also pretty much the only way to get a B20 legalized in a passenger vehicle.
Now, it is illegal to run a converted and exempted car on gas again. But, since the car doesn't need a smog check after being exempted, there isn't too much risk of getting caught.
