Icon4 Skunk2 Alpha series Throttle Body TPS Troubleshooting

Greetings,

I have a B series Skunk2 pro series intake manifold mated to a 70mm Skunk2 Alpha series Throttle Body. The car is running b18b motor tuned on P28 ecu on Chrome. Currently I have a check engine light code 7 for the Throttle Position Sensor. The Car starts, idles (950-1000rpms), and drives fine. But the check engine light bothers me. I've done the following.
  1. Swapped old TPS sensor to new TPS sensor. Results no change.
  2. Verified TPS wire colors are correct.
  3. ECU reset. Results no change.
  4. Calibrated TPS sensor.
  • Green Wire: Shows good ground
  • Yellow Wire: Shows +5v for Power.
  • Red Wire: .4v closed, 3.3v fully opened
Should see approx 0.5v when closed and 4.5v when the throttle body is fully open. No matter what adjustments I made, whether turning the TPS sensor or adjusting the throttle body stop screw, testing results will always be .4v closed, 3.3v fully opened. Is this normal by design of the Skunk2 Alpha Throttle Body? I am guessing because the ECU does not see the correct TPS voltage it is giving me the check engine light. Your prompt response if much appreciated. Thank you!

It sounds like you don't have the TPS arm properly indexed into the pair of tabs on the T/B. To do this, you must first align the TPS post/tab arm and the pair of tabs of the T/B and then turn the adjustment slots in the TPS back toward where you can install a screw/fastener through them to secure it. Once loosely installed, one can now move the TPS and see the change in voltage on the middle wire while the key is on. Set it to .500v and tighten the screws... then pull the throttle blade to WOT and see if you then get about 4.500v.
