Default simple question, dont know the answer

is the 4wd on the crv controlled through the ecu or is it seperate? My buddy is thinking about throwing a vtec head on his wife's crv, but we dont know if the 4wd is seperate from the ecu or if we can just run a p28 or p72

thanks for the input

The real time 4WD is controled via a viscuous coupling between the differentials. I'ts completely mechanical and is not controled in any way by the ECU.

I thought they used a dual pump setup. Either way there is no ECU control.
