Default Should i worry about this?

K just tonight i was racing my friend (i got a EG with a D16z6, vtec hits at 5100)..

i dropped at 2.7k did fine, didnt go above 7k.. (car redlines at 9k i beleive).. i think its chipped? but then again, it may not be and i was probably redlining.. in all honestly idk how to tell by checking the ECU where my car redlines)..

i hit like 7.2k i think.. shifted to 2nd, pulled away and went to shift to 3rd, and it bogged.. (now i know the sound when you redline and the bouncing noise i didn make the noise once) ..

like it poped, Bogged, and then accelerated just fine.. i immediatly stopped (still won the race).. pulled over, poped the hood.. looked under, listened to ticks or anything nothing, But my CEL was now on at this point..

started driving down the road.. stopped at a stop sign, turned car off, turned it back on CEL was off, Motor sounds fine, everything seems ot be fine..

im just afraid that somethings still there.. i could be over panicing..

You can only use a code reader on OBDII cars or some OBDI GM/Chrysler etc. Not OBDI Hondas. You would have to manually do it on your own ecu.

You should really be sure where your ecu red-line is compared to your engine red-line. Just because your ecu will take you up to 9k doesn't mean your engine can handle it. I thought the D16Z6 stock valve-train can handle a little over 7.2k before valve float. I could be wrong though.

Just be careful about any assumptions is all I'm saying (unless you don't care and want to rebuild it anyway).
