Should I replace gaskets with new header?
I will installing a new Comptech header soon. According to the instructions, it says that I can reuse the stock gaskets if they are in good condition. There is one gasket between the header and the engine head and another one between the header and the cat. Are gaskets a wear item or is a 45,000 mile gasket just as good as a new gasket? Gaskets are metal pieces, and I don't see how they are a wear item. If there are any benefits to replacing these gaskets, I'll replace them because they are cheap and I'm super **** about my car, but if there are no benefits whatsoever, then I won't. So, are gaskets a wear item? If so, how do these metal wear out?

When I put on my header I didn't change the one btw the header and the enigne. I did however change the donut gasket between the header and the cat.

I'm super **** too, but thats the only gasket I'll reuse like 3 times before replacement. I'm so **** that i change my injector O rings every time i pull my injectors.
