Edited to make this post make any sort of sense. Wondering if I should rebuild my bottom end. If I do, it will be completely stock. So, the reason I am considering a rebuild in the first place is that the pic below is what my bottom end looked like after pulling the head off. How do my pistons look? The engine has 120k miles on it.
Another reason I am considering a rebuild is that my compression test had cylinder 2 or 3 somewhere around 20psi lower than the others while still in minimum spec. Is that a good indicator of rings going bad or could my valves be the issue ( my headgasket looked fine). The last reason I might want to rebuild was a very slight knocking sound that lasted for about 30 seconds on cold start. I would really like to get this car back on the road but i'm at the "while im in there" stage.

Reason: More direct thought process and more info
Yes for the rebuild. I got a d16z6 an I am getting 170psi on all 4 cylinders, with the 20psi that's not good at all!!.. do u have any metal shaving in the oil on the stick?
To fix the rings a full rebuild must be done on the bottom end pretty much either way ... The valves and valve seat should be looked at whenever u can since it probably has never been inspected before
