Default Short shift kit shifting like ****...

I just installed my dc sport short shifter on my 92 prelude. Now the car is shifting really really harsh, and it doesnt feel too good. Is this normal? Will those go away? If so, how long does it take to break in? Also, is this at all bad for my synchros, tranny, or linkage?

thanks, jordan

I have heard that short shifters will make you car shift harsh because your syncros don't have the time they need between gear changes. can anyone verify this?

Yup, all true.

In daily driving, you may want to consciously move the shifter more slowly than you were used to with the stock shifter. Say it took you exactly .30 seconds to shift gears with the stock shifter. With the short shifter, even though you can shift in .20 seconds, just move slower and do it in .30 seconds like you used to. If your short shifter is installed correctly, that shouldn't wear your tranny any more than the stock one did.

Save your fast shifting for the occasional race.
