I want to take a shift light from a monster tach and place somewhere in the console or modify the cigarette lighter for space.

The question is can I get jus the shift light?

How can I wire the light to the stock tack (EX tack in my VX w/B18C) and have the light work at the correct shift point (8200).

 

personally i think its lame...

but you might want to do this... i heard there is a way to wire your check engine light to your tach so when you wanted to shift the check engine light would come on working as a shift light...

how it knows when to illuminate?? beats me? any one else?

 

That is true.......Only available when you use Hondata Stage 2......pretty cool added feature.......when you set your shift point......the check engine light goes on.........or you can wire a HD directional LED that comes in the kit.........check out hondata.com for details......

To get the signal wire, easiest to goto master cylinder area and look for the factory servoce connector. It is a lone blue wire with a plug on the end. Usually wrapped/taped to the main harness.

or you can buy a cheap msd rpm activated switch and either a module selector or a set of pills as shown above and simply wire that up to turn on any light you want, even just a tiny l.e.d. that's what i had, it'd lite up my cluster area in my old gti. check ebay for some cheap rpm activated switches, sometimes called window switches also.
