search down- code 41- primary oxygen sensor heater?
I'm throwing a code 41- turns out to be the primary oxygen sensor heater. Anyways im in the process of trying a new oxygen sensor, but was wondering what other ppl have done to solve this code? Could this cause my engine to sputter at 5500 rpm? Or is that from having the cel light on?
O2 heater means that the resistive heater element in the O2 is out of spec. 95% of the time replacing the O2 will solve the issue.
It could also be wiring, connector or ECU issues.

I tried replacing the o2 with a functioning one, and still no luck. The car is sputtering when on the gas, could this be associated to the code? Also would the wiring problem have to come from the o2 wiring or just any wiring in general? I guess i'll just keep checking the wiring.
the O2 heater is a very simple part. two wires, one black wire runs to ignition power, the other to the ECU.
sputtering over 5500 shouldn't be caseud by this code, but stranger things have been known to happen.
are you positive that there isn't two codes? easy to over look sometimes.
the sputtering, is it like it's running out of fuel, bogging or cutting out completely?
double check the ground wires on the thermostat and the engine-chassis ground wires.
