SAFC - CEL / Code 3 - Tuning Adjustment ?
1995 Integra OBD I
p75 ECU
......./\
4cyl /
I have the Pressure Sensor set to 6in 6out
Lo 35% High50%
Throttle Position seems to be reflecting near accurate
NE point 1000-8000rpm
I have my adjustments not started until 3500RPM
When I set it to +5% 3500->7000rpm
--------------------------------------------
The car runs fine at idle and WOT
When I set it to +10% 3500->7000rpm
----------------------------------------------
from a stop.. and i press the gas the car bogs down.. almost like its going to stall
and when i hit WOT .. i get a CEL #3 which is MAP sensor malfunction
Now what id like to know is: Is the ECU taking the modified MAP sensor data... comparing it to the 02 sensor data ... and kicking the CEL because it sees the O2 sensor value as too RICH ? If so .. that is cool as hell (;
or
Do i have a calibration error. The Only have the Pressure sensor and Cyl type set
note: I am properly reseting the SAFC after modifiying the values

there is a threshold of only around 5-8% that you can positively add ... any higher will trigger map sensor error. Think about it, all the unit is doing is tricking the signal to the ecu, so to richen you can't send more +voltage to the ecu that WOT ... the correct way to tune is to turn up fuel pressure then lean out the controller to best suit your application, don;t use it to richen on lean out so add more fuel than is needed then lean out less where you want it rich and lena more where you want it lean.
