S4C Transmission Concern
As the title states, I have an S4C tranny that has a vibration only when accelerating (most promonent from 2nd to 5th gear). Light load cruising or de-acceleration has no vibration.
It started as my passenger side inner cv boot was torn so i put in an aftermarket drive axle. The axle retaining clip on the transmission side of the axle took more "persuasion" than normal to get the axle started in to differential (dead blow to end of axle to compress clip). I drove the vehicle and noticed vibration - aftermarket axle didn't have vibration dampner like stock axle so i found an inner boot kit and popped that on the o.e.m. axle only to have the same vibration.
I've taken the tranny out and don't see obvious failure. I haven't had time to thoroughly or accurately diagnose problem as I don't have much expereince in transmissions or time. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have no transportation!!!
