Default Running OBD2 distributor on OBD1 ECU

I'm trying to figure out which wires go where. I pretty much have it figured out, but here is the issue: Every wiring diagram I have seen shows more wires than are physically on the connector. It is an OEM D16Y7 Distributor with 8 wires coming out, all the diagrams/charts I have seen show 9 wires. Someone please point me in the right direction.

The reason you are only seeing 8 wires is because you are using a '99 - '00 Y7/Y8 distributor, they lack the blue tach signal wire coming from the igniter (OBD2B civics and Integras get their tach signal from the ECU instead of the igniter)

Is there a way to splice another wire to get a tach signal? or should I get a different Distributor?

Take the the cap and rotor off the distributor, you should have access to the igniter, there will be one free terminal on it, simply connect a wire here and connect the other end to the extra blue wire in the engine harness.

Bring back from the dead. Does this mean that since I put a PO6 in my 99 ex with the OBD2B-OBD1 adapter harness and now do not get a tach signal from the ecu that I can run a wire from the spare tab on the ignitor directly to the wire that goes to the factory ecu pin Terminal A pin #19 (which is the engine speed pulse wire) to get the tach working again?

link to obd2b pin A19 I am talking about: http://technet.ff-squad.com/wiring.obd2b.htm

Thank you,

Jason

Okay thought id explain this since I finally figured it out. Heres my setup:

1999 civic 4dr, d16y8, 5 speed
OBD2B - OBD1 conversion harness
Neptune software

I know this was mentioned before but never said what spare blue engine harness wire to tap into.

MY INSTRUCTIONS

If you take the distributor cap, rotor and cover off you will see a spare male terminal on the ignitor (next to the rotor shaft), simply run a wire from that spare terminal to the blue deadend plug with the black weather cover over it on the driverside strut tower by the hood prop and BAM!! The tach will work.
