running on 3 cylinders
ok i have a 95 f22b1, a while back i was adjusting the valves and after i started the motor, it sounded like it was only running on 3 cylinders.. almost sounds like a lumpy v8 with a race cam..well i did a compression check, check the cam/crank timing and all turned out fine. could it be a weak coil? faulty/dirty injectors? i've been stumped for almost 8 months now. the car runs fine after 2000 rpm. its only at idle that it really sucks and its gulping gas like no other. i think i may have my cat on backwards.. univ 2.5 catco... which way is the airtube supposed to be facing? would that cause any problems?
Replaced your plugs recently? If not do so. Are you getting a good strong spark to all cylinders? I'd start troubleshooting distributor issues first.
ive replaced the wires and plugs and rotor and cap. i have an MSD digital6 and i'm using the internal coil still. ive tried taking off the msd and going back to stock but nothing changes. think its the coil? havent checked that yet. ou guys know the procedures for checking sufficient coil output?
the distro is still factory original. do ignitors deteriorate or just go kaput all at once? do coils slowly degrade or kaput all at once? and the car seems to drive fine after 2000 rpm.

Take a look at the cap and rotor.

I'll bet you have one of the intake valves adjsuted too tight which is holding one of the valves open slightly. this is very noticeable as an engine miss at idle but not off idle or higher revs. I've seen this quite a few times before.
