Default Severe Misfire! getting frustrated... any ideas

Okay my car when you start it and its cold it perfectly fine. But when it warms up to normal operating temperature it starts to misfire like freaking crazy. It seems to only do it when you give it gas, because it will sit and idle just fine. No check engine lights, and the spark plugs were good when I checked them a month ago. anyone have any ideas? Could it be bad wires? Im gonna just pick out some stuff and start replacing it I guess.

Check your wires, distributor cab, rotor. Do you have an aftermarket ignition? I had the exact same problem, and what happeneing is that I had the external coil too close to the ignition box, and electricity was arcing from the coil to the box and not getting to the plugs... check that I suppose.

No aftermarket ignition, everything is stock in that aspect. I will check the wires I guess. I pulled the distributor cap off and everthing seemed to be fine under there. Where is the best place to get some wires for a good price?

thanks for the suggestions

what fuel are you running. try going with an octane booster or some 93 octane fuel. Start there and do about 2 tanks before you do anything drastic, like throw out cash for wires you might not need.

I would at least check the plugs again if its been a month since you have done so..... just to make sure you know what they look like

i jsut had ignition probs on my del sol VTEC. i had to replace the coil. if ur mis-firing, on onyl one cylinder, chekc the plug and see if it looks like its wet with gas or what. find out which cylinder it is. when i haqd the prob i just reved it and felt the manifold and i could tell which cylinders it was b/c of the cold runners. u might also have a plugged injector.... good luck

might be a bad fuel/air balance..check ur plugs ..if they re fried ..which i think atleast one is..that s the problem..get a fuel regulator and a fuel/air gauge
