USDM ITR FD, 14 bolt ring gear.........

just as easy to get the JDM FD, but your gonna need to inspect the gear teeth on first and second also. Likely more hidden damage.

Well i was told this was a 4.4 final drive which was fine with me i would be scared of a 4.7 because of my trap speeds in the 1/4 my car was traping 130mph in 4th before the new turbo setuo i should trap in the high 140 mph range so i dont think a 4.7 would work that great since i will be well into 5th gear.

Aslo the 14 bolt itr ring gear what year usdm itr's had these im not seeing a diference on the parts diagrams on acura or honda dealers sites i just dont want to order it if its not the right ring gear cause the dealers here suck and carry nothing in stock.

looking on http://www.acuraparts247.com

41233-P80-V00 GEAR, FINAL DRIVEN

Both the 1998 and 2001 GSR and ITR are listed as having the same ring gear.

Hrm.........

Ok well if you count the number of bolt holes on the mircophice pic it comes to 10 holes i dont know if there pic is off but my diff has 14 bolt holes and so does my ring gear. I will call them tommorow and ask.

The US ITR/GSR will not work. The only final drive i have seen with that pattern was out of a cable b16 , and gsr. I had a jdm gsr final drive with oem lsd from a cable gsr into 97 hydro gsr. I was going to use the hydro final drive on it but upon reassembly i noticed the two fd did not match, so i went ahead and installed the whole unit (cable diff+FD) everything else stayed in including the hydro counter shaft. You'll need a fd out a b16/gsr cable trans with the same pattern.

listen to this man. for once bense is wrong. with that LSD you can NOT use the GSR/ITR ring gear.

if you take that ring gear off you will notice that it has teeth on its inner diameter as well. special ring gear.

yeah, it's probably better that you listen to these guys. I've yet to actually take a B-series apart, just going off of what people have told me

But this is where I am confused. I thought that the sirII was hydro?

those ring gears are pretty hard to find. It will be better if you go with a 10 bolt ring gear and new lsd

does that mean that the ring gear has teeth that mesh with the LSD gears?

It's an SIR-G swap dude....haha....haven't you been studying your JDM trivia.

Anyways...yeah, we took my tranny apart yesterday and mine w/ optional LSD has the 14 bolt ring gear. I also want to replace the FD.

BUT...if the OP is looking for a good 14 bolt 4.4 I have one...but I probably need to sell the differential with it.

basically these 14 bolt diffs are from the 92+ JDM DOHC VTEC LSD trannies (B16, B17, B18) Not including the ITR and CTR, which use the same 10 bolt as all the other open diffs..
