Default Ring Gap

I have a B18B block that I'm building a LS/VTEC with. I got it bored out to be .25mm over by a local shop that is fairly reputable in the SCCA crowd here in Raleigh. Well, anyway, I started putting everything together tonight, and everything was good until I checked my ring gaps. The Helm manual says I should see between .008" and .014" end gap about a half inch from the bottom of the bore with new rings. I'm getting around .018" to .019". This is within the service limit of .024". The question is, did I end up getting my block bored out too much? Have any you seen this? I'm using OEM .25mm over P30 rings and pistons.

you might have to get bigger rings and file them down urself to the specs u want or have a shop do it...when i was building my k series block i filed my rings down myself with a file..takes awhile but cheaper than having a shop do it
