rev limiter problem
ok i drive a civic with a 98 gsr swap and a p72 ecu when i drive the car for the first 15-20 min. it pulls fine but after a little while it has a rev limiter at 6500 rpms and it stayes there in every gear does ne one know what the problem could be i already reset my ecu so its not that if ne one else knows what the problem could be let me know ASAP thanks
see what gas is in it. It may have knocked and the ECU picked that up and the ECU is in safe mode and will not let you do it. Its just a fast suggestion.HTH
something with your VTEC system is malfunctioning. that happenes when the VTEC oil pressure switch is un attached. could be that, or a broken sensor? if that were the case you would get a generic VTEC malfunction code like a 22 on my 99.

checked plugs, fine.
replaced distributor, no change
havent yet replaced cap and rotor
but the engine ran fine on that cap and rotor a month ago....
the revlimit feels exactly like the ECU revlimit, so it doesnt seem to be a misfire.

My b16 swap did this and im settin my self up to get flamed. but i didnt change my oil for awhile and the low oil pressure caused the vtec not to work. w/o the vtec your ecu goes into safe mode and limits at 6500rpm
