Resurface the head... Questions!
Hey, if you take the head off or get another, do you absolutely HAVE to resurface it? It is in great condition, no scratches, nothing. so someone let me know b4 i put this thing on! its my 88 prelude 2.0 si. please hurry!
Get a straightedge and a feeler gauge. Measure across the length of the head, the width of the head, and two diagonal measures. I think if it's like within two-thousandths, it should be ok.
When I say straightedge, I don't mean a made in China ruler. I mean, a quality straightedge that machinists use.

why dont you just spend the extra $50 to be on the safe side? look at it this way...you wont have to worry about it getting resurfaced for a while.
True, but why resurface if you don't have to, save it for sometime when the head actually needs to be resurfaced, that way you're not stuck with a useless head down the line that can't be resurfaced within spec (40 thousandths I believe is the max for most honda heads).
