Default Restart Issues

Posted this before and no one had anything to say. I know there are some damn good techs on here, so i need a little help. When my car is hot it will not restart. It will crank but will not turnover (I have spark and i have fuel) however when i let the car cool off for 10 minutes it will start like nothing was wrong. WTF

There is something called a "hot soak restart" problem. Basically, the coolant temp sensor gets flakey and sends the ECU information indicating the engine is cold. The ECU richens the mixture for a cold start. As a result, you end up flooding the engine and it doesn't start. BTW, the sensor (TW sensor) is not the same one that operates the temp gauge in the dash. It's usually right below the distributor. Since you say you have fuel and spark, I would rule out the infamous main relay.

PS... Due to previous trouble shooting attempts on my '90 Civic Si, I have a perfectly functional used TW sensor. Electrically, I'm sure they're all similar. Physically, I'm not sure. If you do decide to replace yours, they're about $30 from the dealer. If you find out they're all the same, you can have mine for $1 to cover postage. Let me know if you're interrested.

Hey man thanks,
heres what i did today, I grabbed an ECT of a d series engine from a junk yard. then i measured the resistance and it was 212 ohms. Then i tested my buddies 99 si cause thats the head i have on my engine and his was 190..ohms ? to my understanding the sensors are suppose to be at 200-400ohms at normal operaton tempature and in this case both our cars were..?
