Rescue me....help with swap
I have a 97 Civic DX coupe:
Installed all of this and engine isn't starting up, are these part's compatible with each other:
-I used a modified DX engine wire harness, eg...wired in KS, VTM, VTEC soleniod, IAC valve, TP sensor, secondary 02 sensor, CKF sensor, and some others. i also changed the plugs to match the wires up from 2-3, vice versa... i basically followed Helms wiring diagram step by step.
-Engine B16A2 and all parts from 2000 Si, axles, linkages, tranny, distributor, starter, mounts.
-using a 1998 P73 ECU ITR instead of of 2000 Si ecu because it made my swap a lot easier in terms of wiring into my 97 DX
-do you see any problems why my engine isn't starting up?
-i checked all the ground wires... eg... tranny and engine, oil fluids have been topped up,
-I checked the wiring schematics about many times and they seem to be ok. eg, TP, MAP sensors,
-the engine is turning over, but just not starting up.
-could it be possible of a faulty P73 ECU that i have? how can i check?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, you rewired ALOT of stuff. You very well could have messed up. You say "eg" in your post....what do you mean by that? I hope not an EG harness...I doubt you could make that work. I assume you modified your stock harness?
I put a 99 b16a2 into my 97 hx...my car uses the same wiring configuration as yours(plugs at the ecu are different then 99+ civics), except I was prewired for vtec. I never got my primary O2 sensor wired up right, and the rest was ok.
I know, with at least the O2 sensor, you wont pull a CEL until you actually get the engine started. Some other sensors could be like that as well.
If you can, get a 96-98 Ex harness. Everything will hook up to the b16a2, except you will have to extend a couple wires. You will have to add wires for a seconday O2 sensor, if you can't live with the CEL. The secondary O2 sensor CEL will NOT hurt performance.
Using the 98 P73 was a good idea. I got by with a 96 P72 for a while in my car.

i also have the si fuel pump in there sa well.
I don't think it's throwing any codes... or if it is i don't know how to tell. One thing though is when I have the key in 2nd click right before i start the engine, the battery light goes on with the low oil light.
-funny thing is fluids are topped up and i checked the connection of the battery, also it is fully charged. But it seems the ECU is in blip (saftey) mode.

Like I said before, the car may not throw any codes until it it started. That is what my swap did.
the ignition turns over, and i can hear it cranking but it never starts up.
- i have new spark plugs and, i checked fuel maps and spark...

Better try another ECU. You should be able to start it with your Dx ecu. The thing that throws me off is....why did you have to rewire the CKF sensor?

yup... I tested the ECU on my friends type R... and it works fine, so it's not the ecu it must be the wiring. I'm going to check all the distributor wires now to see if they were wired probably, because by the looks of it the Si engine uses an extra blue wire on the distributor that my dx harness doesn't use. Myabe this needs to be disconnected. i dunno.. i'm going to try it now
