Default Replacing Main Caps....

I have a fubar'd H22 block; I will be buying a bare H23 block and swapping my rotating assembly and head onto the new block. The only problem is the bare block does not come w/ the original main caps.

I have a spare set of caps sitting around, but I know to align-hone them before installing them. I have a dial/caliper, so I am wondering: How could I measure the caps/mains and how close would they have to be for me to use the caps as-is, no machining required?
