Tried searching, but no luck... Any ideas on how to get the ball joint out after breaking the bottom bolt off with the castle nut seiezed on it? Can it just be hammered out from the bottom??

you can just hammer the ****** out, since you're already rendered it completely useless

There is also a C clip that goes around the bottom of the joint that you will have to remove. It usally gets covered in a bunch of grit after years of service. Take the clip off and pound the ****** out. Most joints come with a new clip so you can just bend the **** out of it to get it off. Make sure it comes with a new clip though before bending it.

I was talking to a friend about this and was told NOT to hammer it out, because it could damage the hole and then the new one won't go in... Thoughts on that?

if you've broken the bolt just hammer it, or use a BJ Fork tool.

I bought the Honda tool for $2xx >> best money I've ever spent....I need to start a loan pool.

Does that really work well? I didn't have any problem tapping the new one back in with the hammer. Next time I do a ball joint I will have to give that a try.

Got it out... About 10 minutes with a 4 or 5 pound mini-sledge broke her loose... I did find that it helped to hit around the edge more than it did just hitting the stud (where the threads would normally be)...

yeah it's a weird fitment.

the we-todds showed how they jack up that part of the suspension (put jack under the rotor/hub) and jam a metal bar where the BJ area is...when they release the jack the bar is pinched and should free the lca from the BJ.

if it doesn't make sense don't worry

glad to hear

I take the boot off and slap a deep socket over the ball joint and hammer on the socket.

Thats a good idea. I used to use a pickle fork (ball joint popper tool) but was tired of it ******* up the ball joint boot. I usually beat on the knuckle right next to the bj to pop it loose. On a eg you can also use a pulley puller to pop the ball joint. THe knuckel has two bumps that you can grab onto with it. That as worked the best for me so far.
