removing cam plates
this is my first time taking apart a motor (im replacing a headgasket and adding headstuds), i removed the valve cover/distributor, loosened the cam pulleys, and loosened and removed all the cam plate bolts from outside to inside and now im stuck because the cam plates will NOT come off. Take note im trying to be as careful as possible because i dont want to screw anything up but does anyone have a walkthrough on how to take these off without damaging the head?
thanks for any input
BTW: this is a OBD2 LS motor

I'm gonna give you the standard "you need to invest in a helms manual" line, then send you here.
They suggest prying but I like to pull upwards on them while gently bumping them side to side with the handle of a hammer to get them started.
