Default Removing blockguard...

We've all heard of the proper way to install blockguards.

Now I want to remove mine.

This @#$% piece of crap is totally cooking my head on my D16Y8. Around town it's just fine. But when I start to engage in extended boosting sessions (mind you this is on a Greddy kit at only 5.5psi--when I was canyon running last summer, the OEM temp sensor barely twitched), the OEM temp sensor is just a needle's width away from the H mark.

I have an AEM EMS sitting next to me, waiting to be installed and tuned. Given this scenario, shall I just remove the @#$% blockguard?

If so, how do I get the SOB out of there?!?!?

I was thinking of that too... that thing must be a bitch to get out of there though!

Any other suggestions?

Tap what holes are there or drill and tap and use a slide hammer? Just a thought since no one else responded that has done it.

Yeah I was thinking of the same thing... tap a couple of self-tapping eyelets in there, then hook up my engine lift, and slowly lift the sucker out... hope it works!

Thanks for the input...
