you're almost there, just make sure your car is on jack stands and have enough clearance to pull out the tranny from under, what is the problem?

i have had problems where the tranny sticks to the block, use a pry bar and a friend it'll come out might take a lil work. best bet is to replace the flywheel

my problem is the tranny is too heavy to drop and lift back up to put back on the block

Use a jack for ease. The b-series transmission weighs about 80 lbs. dry.

I just get under the car while it is on jack stands and wiggle it off with my hands and lower it onto my chest/belly. Then I gently transfer it to the ground and slide it out. Seriously most 16 year olds can bench press at least 140lbs and this weighs a little over half that. You will have no problems.
