rod bolts and head bolts on ls-vtec
whats up with using aftermarket rod and head bolts like arp when putting together a ls-vtec??
does oem rod and head bolts not work very well or what?
im just thinking about ditching my b16 and going the ls way and was wondering why people go aftermarket in the bolts. thx in advance

definately go with arp headstuds and rod bolts. helps with the extra reving on the ls. also for as cheap as they are, you cant beat them. much stronger than oem
Get them. The rod bolts are only like $60 anyways. On the LS, it wasn't really meant to rev over 7000 rpms. Many people who rev over that eventually spin their rod bearings. Spend the $60 on the bolts, and whatever the head bols cost ... VERY cheap insurane.
i used oem head bolts from a gsr and factory rod bolts i rev mine to 8500 basically everyday i think as long as yer whole rotating assembly is well balanced like mine is it can take it but i wish i would have gotton head studs and arp rod bolts.
