what does it mean when your car redlines? is it those redlines on the rpm gauge? lol i kno newbie

well that where the term came from. normally car companys had a red section or red lines on the tach to show u when it is safe to shift.

people now use the term such as "i was redlining every gear" or " then i redlined" for saying they took there motor up to its peak point of rpm range.

so yes you were right. there are a few different ways people use this term. do u understand it now?

 

yes thx you very much. well i always knew when to shift and that teh red lines on teh rpm gauge ment to shift. but alot of ppl say weird **** so i was just asking to make sure thx for all your help
