Default reading plugs. copper v. iridium

1) alright, I've got a 94 GSR and when I bought it it had copper plugs that an LS should have ( had nitrous) . So I put in the stock iridium plugs( Autolite) and noticed a big power improvement. The copper plugs where a perfect tan color, then when I put in the iridiums they are just white . Do iridiums read differently? am i lean?(no knocking or white specks)

2)I turned my timing from 14-18 BTDC. and put in new plugs(top). My FPR reads 37 psi at idle and 4k. This seems wierd. car shoould be faster. should I adjust the FPR? alsothey guy who owned it said it had a 5 angle valve job and higher comp. , but I don't think it does, would this affect my FPR.

I/H/E.. I know it's a lot of Qs but thanks for the help
