Default r/s ratio ls vtec boosted reliability

ive been reading that ls vtec isn't reliable because of the r/s ratio and how the pistons scratch up the cylinder walls, would it be reliable if i got gsr pistons/rods with a itr crank? since theyre longer then the stock ls ones. i plan to boost it with a itr head. and my current set up is pauter gsr rods, je 9.1:1 pistons, aebs sleeved 81.5mm block, itr crank, and a itr head. i dont plan to revv the engine over 8k. and my goal is 400hp daily tuned with aem ems and 1000cc injectors.
