Quick Tranny Question
My tranny is ready to go back in my car after replacing the input shaft bearing. After putting the case on the input shaft is hard to turn compared to before I took it apart. I assume it's normal since there is no fluid at all on any of the gears but I just wanted to see if anyone else has this problem before I slap it back in the car. Thanks!
It depends, I've had this same problem when I completely rebuilt my friend's Z6 tranny... I simply just MTF on the gears while assembling it... Now I just use assembly lube and it seems to work great... Make sure you have the outer casing and all the main/countershaft bearings in square... That's about it... Should be fine... Peace
Well it spins freely until I turn it upside down and tap the tranny case to get the snap ring to seat. I've taken the case off and put it back on 5-6 times now and It's getting frustrating. Guess I will check the bearings but everything is lined up as far as I can tell.
Still not working. After bolting the case on it will not move at all even when putting the old clutch disk on and trying to turn that. Something is binding but i've put the case on every way possible and it's still the same everytime.
