tranny question
a tranny i just aquired has a light mechanical almost humming sound when driving in 1-3 gears, nothing major but does anyone know what is wrong and how i could get it fixed or fix myself? cost estiments? it is a 94 ex tranny

It could be a bearing in the tranny, the input shaft bearing is typically one of the first to go bad.
Did you replace the throwout bearing when you changed the tranny? Could be that as well.
Parts to replace the input shaft bearing is ~$35, and the better part of a day to replace it. Shop costs would be more than the transmission is worth.
Does the noise go away when you push on the clutch and appear when you let off (while sitting stationary of course at idle)?
