Quick timing question
I didnt know people talk about Fords on here also. But i dont know if a timing mark will be different on a d series than say b, k, f, j, or h series. I thought they are all the same, just need to know which mark is the retard timing

Well if you can picture how an engine runs, and you know the timing belt spins counter clockwise. So if you rotate the cam gears clockwise, the valves will be opening sooner i.e. "advanced".
So, in any engine, advancing cam timing is obtained by rotating the cam gears in the opposite direction of engine rotation.
