Default Question on LS/VTEC?

If i use the b18c1 head and have ITR cams and portflow retainers and ITR valve springs...will it be just as good as a B18c5 or better?

No, the B18c5 head would still be better.

the B18C head will give you higher compression. Type R head is almost exact to the B16 heads flow characteristics with the added slight port and polish. if your gunna go LS/VTEC..... use the B18C head. And as for the springs and retainers... they'll allow you to rev as high as the Type R but thats about the onlything they'll have in common.

crx_vtec is right. If left stock, the b18c1 head will yield higher #'s. B18c5/b16a have a round combustion chamber as opposed to the rectangular shaped chamber of the gsr(b18c1) and will have a lower compression ratio due to the added area in the chamber. I believe the round chambers are better for a more efficient burn. If doing some serious modding, this should be thought of.
