Question for ecu chipping experts
[Modified by Wes d, 9:00 PM 1/8/2003]
I have no clue but personaly, i would have asked him first. Badly chipped ECU's can seriously **** up a engine. I read a story somewhere about a guy who got a baddly chipped ecu and it advanced his timing 40 degrees
Id ask him about it. If he has no answer... I dont know what to do.

you the right components. the problem could lie in few ares. such as:
1) wrong chip for the ecu (EPROM)
2) burnt/blank chip
3) improperly soldered on parts (ie. check pin #1 on the hc373)
4) possibly a short on the otherside of the PCB
I persoanlly would suggest looking at both side of the board (PCB) to check all the leads for any shorts first. check that the parts are soldered on both side and that there is no open pins. check the socket and make sure the chip is in all the way.
also please slap a sticker on the chip before it goes blank. EPROMs with windows are UV erasable. so camera flash, light can damage the data stored.
