Default p28 to to p30

hi i have a B16A 1996 model engine in my honda and i bought it with a chiped ECU. problem is that it was over chiped wrong i think and just rised the fuel consumption level. where i live its every hard to find parts for my engine so all i could find was a P30 ECU and the ECU i had in my car is a P28, it seems to be working for the most part but there are some problems. my question is this. does a P30 ECU work 100% on a engine that had a P28 ECU on it? and is there anything i can do to make it work if not?

As far as hardware differences between the P28 and P30, the P30 has a knock sensor, the P28 doesn't. That's about it. (provided it's the same DM origin)

It doesn't really matter though, once chipped the hardware of the ECU is basically a slave to whats in the chip.
So the P28 became what ever is in the chip, which is something in serious need of tuning.

The P30 ran the B16a3 originally, it will run your B16a fine. That is as long as it's not chipped with some ridiculous chip in it...

sorry you guys if i did'nt explain what i mean in the right way, i don't know much about car's only how to drive one, i live in Jordan and its very hard to find any parts for my engine here. i had to try out maybe 30 used ECU's on my car and the only one that did'nt give me a check engine sign was the P30. but still my RPM is jumping about from 1000 to 1500 and i'm worried it might be from the ECU as it started as soon as i installed it. someone tolled me it might be a problem with the chock as it goes away when i unplug it, any help there would be great. As for my P28 ECU what i meant by over chiped was that it had a lauch control system and also something to do with a turbo on there not to mention the fuel consumption as the car electrition explained to me and since my B16A is only standerd one it gave less power.

Since your p28 is already chipped go to either Xenocron.com or phearable.net and get a chipped burned for your setup. Best solution in my opinion.

open the ECU, on the largest chip there will be a three digit numeric code. That code can tell you what the ECU was originally.

(three digit code is the ID column)

all though these days that doesn't mean much.
